Its STILL bloody winter in bloody Blighty!!
March! MARCH and we have snow and sub zero temperatures!
GGGRrrrrrrr...I'm so fed up with it. Might have to move to Spain at this rate.

Sorry guys, I'm just so miffed cos I hate riding in the cold and there's so much salt on the road my little baby is corroding before my eyes! I keep hearing that Sisters of Mercy song in my ears every time I take her out..

" Hey now, hey now now...sing this corrosion to me "

Or Foreigners' " you're as cold as ice "

( rant over )

Summer started in April last year in the UK; amazing weather if you remember.

That should mean at least 7 months of two wheel utopia ! 8)

Took Babs out yesterday after her sponge bath. ( Drought and no water in my garage, hence sponge and 2 x litre bottles of tap water  )

Lovely day but very cold. Still tonnes of salt on the road, you should see the state of my aluminium...its criminal. Its all had a good coating of ACF-50, so hopefully that should help prevent any more corrosion.
Nice to pull up at traffic lights on Sloane Square in Chelsea and see the young lad changing the Hugo Boss window stare, slack jawed. I swear he didn't blink. Also got admiring comments from some work men as I waited at more lights.
Roll on summer :D :D :D

Ha! Just got back from a week in Lanzarote (20+ in the shade) and I was itching for my bike out there.
However I managed to miss the snow and was greated by nice clean roads.
Suffice to say I have taken full advantage of this and was out at our local roundabout complex trying to scrub in the edges of the Dunlops - no mean feat in 0C temps.
I agree fully with Tinks - let summer and the prospect of a new bike begin!

Noticing your quote has reminded me. I'm off to the launch party of the Barry Sheene Memorial Motorcycle Challenge in aid of CLIC Sargent, this Thursday.
Its being hosted by Steve Parrish and Eddie Jordan. Sounds like its going to be a good evening :)

yeah, weather overt here is shite most of the year but it seems to have started pretty well so far this year. plenty of sun and knee draggin fun!!

riding all year round may not be fun but its the way I live. you gain so much more experience riding in the wet as well its well worth it. until you drop it of course!

To an extent, I agree. If you dont ride all year round, you are not at the top of your game. I do ride all year round but it doesn't mean i enjoy it. However, I'm a lot more confident in adverse conditions than a lot of my friends, purely due to the fact that I'm used to it.
I actually learn't to ride on a Scottish Island in the middle of the North Sea in the middle of the winter. I didn't see a warm dry day for 8 months. The day i took my test it was blowing a force 8, sleeting and plenty of snow still on the ground.
Still dont like riding in the cold tho. Nuff said.
Cold tyres on cold wet roads...Nicky Haydon, eat your heart out :x

nevermind - its now in the mid 20's and glorious. Spent all last weekend clocking up 500+ miles in Somerset and Dorset with a pack of aout 50-odd other sports bike riders :D
