Hi peeps,
forgot to ask can anyone suggest what can would be best suited to the bike....heard the arkopovic was good and also a power commander would be a good asset....
Thanks 2 all who respond...

So you're looking for an aftermarket exhaust huh?? Well which one you get depends on which one you want. If it's sound...go with D&D, or Akra. I've heard D&D is the loudest, and Akra is known for the sound as well. If it's peformance, Yoshimura is supposedly pretty good, but expensive, if you buy the whole system. I have a GYT-R (Genuine Yamaha Technolugy Racing) on mine, and it gave me a little more power in the lower gears, and it's louder.
No matter what you go with, when u get time and money, try to get the engine mapped to the pipe, it will give you optimum performance out of it.
Hope I helped a little.... good luck with whatever you choose :D

I love the sound of my Akropovic. I wish I had the full race pipe.. but.. a slip on for now. As far as power i noticed a bit more in the low end before I threw the power commander on it... no real change after the PC, just better throttle response, I haven't really played with my PC much.. only a little.

Some rules of thumb: 1. Full systems are for power/performance 2. Slipons usually won't give you much power, they're more for looks/sound. D&D is cheap, and sounds cheap...it's raspy and tinny...but is undeniably the LOUDEST exhaust out there. Micron is a nice sounding exhaust that makes some power and is well built. Yoshimura is a quiet exhaust by aftermarket standards, but good power. Ak. is probably the most powerful followed by Devil which is almost universally accepted as the best sounding R6 exhaust if you want that deep rumble (but Devil is expensive)

For a slip on i would go Micron. Best sounding pipe for the R6 IMO.

I have had Micron's on all my previous bikes...but I think I'm going to go Devil this time. It's got that micron rumble...but it's louder and a smidge deeper.

IMHO, graves and GYTR exhausts/parts are overpriced for what you get...but you can allways be assured the build quality is going to be great.

I have a Yosh system on mine it is a quieter exhaust but I like it that way. The performance was pretty good though! I would recommend it.
